I got a number of activities for my kids to do over summer vacation. Most activities, though, are not useful at all once theyre done. They just lay around the house until they get dumped. So this gets extra points for the fact that its useful even once the craft is complete. This kit is complete, including everything the kids need to make their crafts. The clay colors are boldly colored and soft. The idea book has clear instructions for kids and can be saved to be reused with new clay (even regular clay). The booklet also has tips and helpful advice to make clay sculpting easier.I especially love the fun facts in the booklet. It adds a bit of learning in a fun way.Overall, its a great way to keep the kids entertained.
So, we tried one of these kits several years ago and it was a small disaster so I wasn't sure about even trying this. I'm so glad we did. It WORKS! We made our erasers and we baked them and they actually erase. The kids are so freaking excited over them because they actually work and erase pencil marks and they made them and they're cute (even if a little sloppy - because nobody's come out like the pictures, right?} They got a little grump with mom for using "so much" white making my koi fish, but whatever?! Mom wants a cool eraser too. The clay amounts are small, but plenty for several projects. We did lose a snake that was bent around the pencil because she wrapped it too tight and we couldn't remove so watch for that as well!
